home home home

*waves*

I have a ton of stories, a ton of pictures.

A ton of work.

But home. Yay.

I'm still working through emails and snail mail. I intend to be completely back on track by Dec. 1.

Heh.

The short version: I loved Rome, the little churches in Italy made my soul soar, the wine didn't hurt either. Being in Italy when Obama won the election was eye-opening (and yes, when I found out, I burst into sobs, much to the dismay of the hotel staff and the huge family of Germans standing next to me. Lorna, however, got it). The bodega in Barcelona restored my faith in the universe. I could move to Malaga today and never come back. If I never have to deal with bitter, nasty, openly-hostile old Yankees again, I'll be happy (No offense to the not-bitter, not-nasty Yankees, but Jesus - I've never been in a situation where people where so comfortable being utterly and openly vicious. Cruise lines are where old assholes go to die, apparently). However, we made great friends with the crew. Sint Maarten rocked and I spent too much money. I knitted a ton and did not figure out how to knit socks. I did, however, figure out that left-handed people knit inside-out in the round...

I missed everyone and brought home much wonders for folks from California to out-in-the-middle-of-the-ocean Canada.

*kisses all around*
