my local organic food box
this week we got kohlrabi, brocolli sprouts, salad mix, a head of red lettuce, a head of green lettuce, cilantro, beets, dinosaur kale, leeks, green onions, pears, bananas, tomatoes, grapefruit and asparagus.
We pickled beets yesterday (they're in the fridge, I haven't tasted them yet, but they were a pretty color). The kohlrabi, sprouts, red lettuce, green onion and tomatoes went into a nice salad along with the mix. The asparagus were grilled with steak, onion, garlic, mushrooms and butter. We made a tart with the pears (OMG, *so* good). I forsee soup with the kale and leeks and I'll make banana bread tomorrow.
I'm eating grapefruit for breakfast. ;-)

Mmmmm. I love your local organic foods box. I wish there was someone who did something like that here. Although I imagine something like that wouldn't start until the end of May at the earliest! *grins*
Grilled asparagus -- guh.
Pickled beets -- mmmm
The pear tart sounds yummy.
And fresh greens for salad, how cool is that.
I have local organic food box envy ;)
