My amazon baby

So, I have to squeak and bounce.

My baby girl? Overcame her fears and entered the Austin Cake Show - she entered in sculpted cakes and novelty tiered cakes.

The novelty tiered cake - the dragon one - took 3rd place and had great comments from the judges.

The sculptured cake - the mountain one?

TOOK FIRST PLACE! GO AMAZON BABY!!!

I'm so proud - not so much of how she placed, really (although that's rocking cool) but of how she managed to enter even though she was scared and how, when the fondant melted and things started falling apart, she didn't give up. She screamed and cried some, but then she put on her big girl panties and walked it off and managed to pull things off, on deadline. That's my girl. It's not about beating everybody else, it's about overcoming your own hangups.

*nods*

She doesn't know how amazing she is, not even the slightest clue, but I sure do, and I give thanks every single day for her.

Wow! Go AB! That kind of perserverence is commendable. And also a credit to the people that gave her those coping skills. ;-) *takes more notes*

And those cakes are so cool!
