coffee and hoodies and houseshoes
I am cuddled up at the desk experiencing winter. ;-)
Actually, it's not half-bad in here and I'm planning to bake the best-cinnamon-rolls-on-earth this afternoon and there's stew in the crockpot and there'll be cornbread for supper. So, all-in-all, I'm a happy chicken.
Last night we played with the raclette. Oh. My. God. Interactive food with cheese. We laughed and joked and goofed around and I heartily approved. The s'mores, though? Uhn. There were zucchini and mushrooms, proscuitto, pepperoni, ham, artichokes and tomatoes, boiled potatoes and peppers. Then we had mustard seed cheese, cheese with chives, guyere, swiss and cheddar. Add leftover pea salad and some rolls and we had a meal. Then marshmallows and chocolate chips melted and poured over graham crackers.
*chuckles*
I loved the artichoke best.
It was a year ago today that Terrie died. Yesterday was harder than today's been. Today, I just feel... nostalgic in that fond sort of way and keep remembering how she was smiling when she died - I mean, really, honestly *smiling* like she'd just heard the punch line to a joke none of us could possibly understand yet.
*chuckles, turns Mahalia Jackson up loud and gets back to work*
