Today's ramblings

We headed to the farmer's market again - more goat cheese, onions, peaches, tomatoes, new potatoes. We got 2 pecks of plums and we smooshed them up for jelly.

:D

There's homemade bread now and three different types of jelly to go on top (that's what the picture is). Elote tacos for supper - which I *highly* recommend. Moma, you'd love these. They're light and filling and spicy and meatless. And took 5 minutes.

4 ears of corn on the cob - cut off the cob
4 tablespoons butter

Cook this for 5 minutes in a skillet, stirring the entire type. Then add kosher salt, cayenne pepper to taste and stir. Sprinkle 5-6 tablespoons of cajita cheese on top. Serve in tortilas with a slice of avocado.

*so* good.

I'm trying hard to learn how to do the needle rocking thing with hand quilting. It appears to be hopeless, but I'm trying, damn it.

We're really loving the freecycle community. I'm getting rid of a metric ton of stuff, and today we picked up a batch of copper wire. Very cool. (I have no idea with the husband is going to do with it, but it's very, very cool.)
